Like I said before, W2 should be good enough. If you get employment letter for that period, that will be better.
Typically LCAs are not needed, unless asked to prove H1-B status for job location and other related issues.

Does anyone have the format of the employment letter? My attorney didn't request one even when I emailed him few time.

There have been cases of folks using L1 A Visa. Big outsourcing companies (US & Indian- Does not matter) routinely file for L1 A (intra company transferee - Managerial) when the person is clearly not performing managerial job. Once on L1 A, folks can file for EB1 and get a GC very soon as it is mostly current. I have seen cases in the past like this. I do not know the status now, as DOL is coming down heavily with audits on PERM applicants. This is one area where only deserving people need to be awarded. This post is not to blame anyone, but people do use this Grey area I suppose to their benefit.

My lawyer is going to submit the 485 WITHOUT a letter from my current employer. This is going to be a concurrent I-140 and I-485 application (140 and 485 applied together).
I looked at the 485 application form and see that it clearly mentions - page 5, that a letter from the employer is required (mentioning job title, job description and salary). My lawyer still says it is NOT required.
- Are there people who have submitted 485 applications OR who are going to submit the 485 WITHOUT an Employment letter ? Replies/advice greatly appreciated.

employment letter is not part of initial evidnece per the FAQ issue by USCIS on 07/23/2007. Only signatures and exact fee amounts are part of initial evidence. Sit back and relax now.

I have been lurking on this forum to understand the plight of EB immigrants and the posts the last few weeks have confirmed my belief that the problem exist because a lot of people came to the US from 1999-2006 and want to stay here permanently. The EB immigration system was fine before then; thus, the problem is supply/demand, not the immigration policies.

Supply and demand changed because the immigration policy changed. H1B visas were increased from 65K to 195K, without a increase in the GC numbers. Folks on the hill made businesses happy by increasing the H1B numbers and did not care a rat's ass about how the increase will choke the GC system. The effect is compounded with 245i and USCIS inefficiency. But the root cause is policy that did not encompass all aspects of Employment based immigration.

Well, I do have a vested interest in maintaining status quo, at least with regard to the per country caps. :)
But, working in one of the Valley companies, I see a lot of people from India and China who just don't mix with rest of the people, say, from Poland or Germany or France or Iran. US (the whole government, including USCIS) likes the idea of 'Melting pot' when it comes to immigration. When you melt a lot of metals with each other, you don't end up with a fragmented alloy, since you've capped the amount of each metal in your pot. That is how you get 'Little Italy's and 'China Town's and the latest one in San Jose, CA: 'Saigon Business district'

We need to run a media drive from tomorrow with full speed so that we can communicate this absurd action by DOS and USCIS.
How can they give 18K greencards in one day? and 60K greencards in one month. Where was the lack of manpower and heavy workload excuses?
Why did they make the dates current in the first place when they knew they cannot handle so many applications? There are so many questions that need answers.
This system is broken and needs to be fixed. Let us communicate to all our friends who are affected with this tragedy today so that we can all unite and make efforts to have our voices heard.

2) You also need to be registered for the advocacy day.
3) You also have to be willing to participate in the training and the 2 days of advocacy.

Buying a house is treated more as an investment (so you are told by the mortgage brokers) and like any investment it has its ups and downs. The OP probably wanted to get into this down market to get a house at a far lower price that what it used to be 10 months back ( similar to buying stocks now if you want to play long ). I really don't see a point lambasting OP for that choice, it's an individual decision.
However, I also do believe that one has to weigh in their options before they plan to make an investment. If you are expecting a kid and your wife is planning on taking time off work to raise the kid, it's probably not a good idea to get such a huge loan on one's back since it's a well known fact, it's going to take some time before anyone see any +ve value on their house prices. It's also imperative in this market to have a decent cash reserve , in case there is no dual income to cover for expenses in case of a job loss. If someone didn't do it, no use crying now !

If there are no I-485 pending for EB2 I/C then the demand goes to zero (unless DOS/USCIS uses pending I-140s to decide demand). And if demand < supply then the category goes to current (atleast per the explanation in the demand data document).And definitely if EB2 I/C folks post July 2007 are allowed to file I-485 then USCIS will realize demand is not zero but say 50K. Then again next month PD goes back to late 2007.
I think visa numbers are assigned to I-485 before they are processed for demand data purposes, otherwise the demand data prior to CY 2006 for EB2 I will not be zero with some people with 05 PDs still waiting for GCs. But, again this is all speculation and the situation will be clear by Sep 2011 when almost all of EB2I/C pending I-485s will have been cleared.
There are 34k pending EB3 I and C till 2007. As per the quarterly quota both I and C get 750 a quarter which should place EB2 I and C in pending status. Coming to the last quarter yes they can Put all Current. Its all USCIS anything can happen.
