A couple of documents about the
Immigrant Visa Allocation Management System (IVAMS)
This is the system that performs the analysis for the Visa demands/allocations etc...

Just on a side note, maybe to address the quarterly-spillover issue, this system needs to be updated/changed and since it will be "a decade long task" for the DOS to do it, we might not see the spillover for a while...:confused:..

Hey imv116, how about the fact that it is totally unethical and illegal? How can you support this? I myself have done MS and have seen the effect of this ridiculous practice. I was very good and yet could not get any job because the market is flooded with false resumes. So employers think there are many experienced candidates and do not want freshers!!
Also, just like others have mentioned, it undermines the quality and experience of the genuine people. I agree that students sometimes do not have a choice in the current scenario. But at the same time, many of them are just not good enough to get a job on their own merit. That is why they have no problem resorting to such shameful tactics.

Look at the last page.
The worldwide level for annual employment-based preference immigrants is 140,000. So the usage was actually more.

Employment based visa numbers 140,000 is for eb1 thru eb5.
As mentioned in my previous post in this thread, for FY2008 family based numbers are totally used, so there were no unused numbers for employment based FY2009 numbers.

Yes, copies of this request from different individuals is going to make a difference. we need to show that the information being requested is needed by a lot of people out there. Just in case if you are wondering, Your application and your FOIA request have got nothing to do with each other.

It was for medical form:
1) As X-Ray report was missing (and my medical report had +ve in TB test),
2) My physician was no longer in USCIS's current list of doctors.

Each Year un-used FB (Family based) visas are given to EB (Employment based) in coming year. Last year CIS did not use 22704 FB visa which is added to 140K EB count for 2008.
that means Eb2 india has more than 40k visa available ... that explains it why EB2 India and China has moved from June to August 2006.

When prominent business houses like Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Oracle and organizations like AILA seem powerless when it comes to influencing senators, lawmakers and government organizations like USCIS and DOS, what can IV team do to change the policies. Sorry I did not mean to criticize, but that's the truth, unfortunately!

I have a EAD L2 Based valid till 2009. I havent worked in US till now after getting EAD. Now I have to travel to India for a Month. What will be the procedure to retain my EAD after I come back to US after 30 day.

my lawyer also told same thing, no need employer letter for 485.
Only I submitted letter for LC and 140 only.

I am in the same boat. Consulted 2 attorneys, both of them provided very different overview. As per one using AC21 was very easy, didn't require much paperwork from employer (letter of employment with job responsibilities). The other one suggested that the new employer needs to support the green card process & made it sound like serious work.
Another interesting note was, the attorney who mentioned it was easy, would have charged $500 for the process vs $2500 + expenses. So kind off figured that one has to justify charge $2,500, hence the additional paperwork, etc (scare factor).
I did some research over the web. Came to the conclusion that utilizing AC21 is pretty simple. I am moving forward with it and starting my new job in April.
Since this is a big decision, I would suggest that you get a second opinion

Yes, a PM would also work even if the mail is bounced. You can make it a point you send these PM only to those who are contributing or have been contributing in the past. That way we can avoid any spies in IV.
If the bill will come up in Feb, behind the scene work must have started or will start after the first 100 hours plan (which should end soon).

I think lot of things happened..1).our provisions are included in the CIR Bill Last year 2) Our provisions are in the skill bill 3) Atleast I guess 100 politicians know about our problems now

Its only the last step that was not successful because of illegal immigration..
Hopefully we can get that done this year..

we would all like something to happen. but not everything is in our hands. nor do these things happen easily or quickly. the issues involved are now deeply emotional and political. much of what goes on is in the background and not for public consumption. there is a certain expectancy over immigration reform this year, we cannot afford to waste the sliver of opportunity that may present.
let me put two things to you simply:
1. if you keep waiting for "good news" to make your contribution, and if enough people think like you, well maybe it will never come. you see, the whole thing about iv is that we are trying to make our own destiny. without effort there will be no fruits. many people are making significant efforts, may be you have missed that on your visits to the forum. without the help of many more though, we are sunk.
2. your contribution is intended to create "good news", it is not some reward you hand out after success begins. i realize that you are feeling low and frustrated. please join this effort in earnest- the best way to feel positive is to know you are making your utmost effort. not just money, bring in members and join a state chapter, meet lawmakers and help with campaigns on the forum. If everyone did these things, we would be unstoppable.
please think about it. you have been waiting for months to see results from others hard work. maybe it's time to jump right in.
